As a service to commercial property and facilities managers, A Shade Different, a local provider of custom window treatments, has introduced their Blinds On Demand (BOD) program. The service provides preferred ordering, warehousing, and pricing for commercial customers with a specific need for repeat orders of window coverings.

While all window treatments provided by A Shade Different are custom measured and manufactured, many facilities such as schools, adult care, apartment buildings and healthcare facilities routinely order replacement shades in one or two recurring sizes. Or in certain cases, window treatments are required in stages as parts of facilities are renovated. Through the Blinds On Demand program, windows will be measured in advance and a supply of window coverings will be ordered and stored by A Shade Different and held until the customer is ready for them to be installed.

"We have found this to be very efficient with a few of our established customers," said Diana Keene, owner of A Shade Different. "As long as we can determine the product and size requirements in advance, the product will be waiting for a phone call from the customer. With one customer who owns and manages a large apartment complex, he is rotating new blinds in every time a tenant moves out. We hold 16 blinds for him and he calls us whenever a unit is ready for installation. It could not be simpler."

The BOD program applies volume pricing when possible and can be used for virtually any type of window treatment, though it is most popular with wood and faux wood blinds, aluminum mini-blinds, and roller shades because those are more typically used in commercial settings, according to Keene.

"We have introduced the BOD program to help our facilities management customers save time and money, and to reduce their headaches," Keene said. "No matter the type of facility, we can help make the process easier and more economical, and all of the products we sell are quality brands with great warranties."
